Incorporated in 2012, the National Native American Boarding School Healing Coalition (NABS) was created to bring awareness to the public about Indigenous boarding school history and to help provide resources and support in the healing of acute trauma to Native American and Alaska Native Nations caused by nineteenth-century U.S. boarding school policy. 

The mission of the National Native American Boarding School Healing Coalition (NABS), as stated on their website, is "to lead in the pursuit of understanding and addressing the ongoing trauma created by the U.S. Indian Boarding School policy."
